Altar Server
The role of the Altar Server is to assist the
priest in the celebration of Mass and other liturgical services. It is
a wonderful opportunity for the children at St. Anne's to participate
in Mass in a very special way.
"Let us love not in
word...but in deed" - 1 John 4:18

of song and enhances our worship at Mass each Sunday and other
liturgical events.
"Sing praise to the
glory of His name" - Psalms 66:2
Church Usher
The Ushers at St. Anne's play an important role at
Mass. They provide us all with assistance when we need to find a seat
during crowded Mass celebrations. In addition, they assist in "passing
the basket" for our weekly Sunday Offering.

through the reading and sharing of scripture and prayer.
"Blessed in the one who
reads aloud and blessed are those who listen" - Revelation 1:3
Bereavement Committee
At some point in our lives, we all experience the loss of a loved
member of our family or very close friend. During these times, having
the support of our families and friends as well as our Parish family is
indeed comforting. As a small part of what we can do as a Parish, the
Fr. Smith Center is available for those families who need a place to
gather and be together after the funeral ceremonies. We need volunteers
who can assist in preparing the Center for these occasions.
"Rejoice with those to
rejoice, weep with those who weep" -Romans 13:15
Christian Word Ministry
These are times in our lives when it is important for us to have and
experience the support of our Christian community - both during the
good times and the hard times. The Christian Word Minister provides
this support to our parishioners through letters and verbal
communication.
"Rejoice with those to
rejoice, weep with those who weep" -Romans 13:15
Human Services
Hours of operation:
Wednesday 8:00 - 4:00, Thursday 8:00 - 8:00, Friday & Saturday
8:00 - 1:00
As a parish and as individual Christians we have a
responsibility to those in need. St. Anne's Human Services Ministry is
one of the most active church ministries in the Worcester Diocese.
Human Services assists the poor and needy in our own Parish as well as
in our local community. St. Anne's Human Services takes in clothing,
food and other miscellaneous items. Some of these gifts are sold
through the Thrift Shop providing us money to buy food or to provide
food vouchers for the hungry. Some is given directly to those in need.
We need people to help with these efforts. Each Human
Services
volunteer can offer help in their own special way. If it were not for
the dedicated, caring and loving efforts of our Human Services
volunteers, many in Shrewsbury as well as in our own Parish would have
"gone without."
"For I was hungry and
you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink" - Matthew 25:35
Marriage Preparation
Throughout the year, young as well as older adult members of our
Parish, celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony. To encourage a fuller and
richer understanding of each other as well as the responsibilities of
Catholic Christian marriage, each couple is required to experience
Marriage Preparation. As part of this process, couples are given the
opportunity to prepare with other married couples in our own Parish -
to learn from their experiences, wisdom and faith in God.
"And the two shall
become one" - Matthew 19:15-6
Mustard Seed Volunteer
On the third Saturday of each month, St. Anne's volunteers sponsor a
dinner for the hungry at the Mustard Seed in Worcester. The Mustard
Seed is a place for the hungry and needy to receive meals and
assistance.
"...Whatever you did
for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me" - Matthew 25:40
R.C.I.A. Ministry
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the way the
Catholic Church welcomes and prepares adults to celebrate full
sacramental initiation through Baptism. Confirmation and the Eucharist.
Those eligible to celebrate the rite include: unbaptized adults,
baptized adults who have not yet completed initiation through
Confirmation and Eucharist, children of catechetical age (seven years
or older) who have not been baptized, and adults baptized in another
Christian church.
"...You should follow
in His footsteps" - 1 Peter 2:21
Parish Council
The Parish Council is an organization comprised of men and women
parishioners of St. Anne's. The mission of the Council is to assist the
Pastor and provide our people with and active voice and role in church
affairs through elected and appointed representatives. There are 12
members of the Council - 6 appointed and 6 elected. Those appointed are
those people who manage major programs or represent:
• Human Services
• Religious Education
• Finance Committee
• Clergy
• Family Life
• Liturgical
The other 6 members are elected and need no specific
credentials other than to be an active member at St. Anne's
"As each one of us has
received a gift, use it to serve one another" - 1 Peter 4:10
Parish Finance Committee
The Parish Finance Committee is an organization of men and women of our
Parish who access Parish needs, establish a budget and supervise income
and expenditures. This committee has been very instrumental in advising
the Pastor in the efforts to increase the Parish income in order to
ensure financial stability now and in the years to come.
"Let us love not in
word...but in deed" - 1 John 4:18
Sunday Collection Counter
Each week, we graciously accept your weekly gifts in support of our
Parish. A natural extension of "the giving" is "the counting and
recording" of donations. Because of the size of our Parish, this work
requires that we have help.
"Let us love not in
word...but in deed" - 1 John 4:18
